Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Bella Vista, Arkansas. Well it’s time for the annual Christmas letter. We have had a very good year and hope you did too. We’re anxious to hear how and what you did this year.
Every year we have a few significant events in our lives. This year’s were mostly good with the most exciting being the adoption of Phantom (of the Opera), a terrier-mix mutt from our animal shelter. We think he is nearly two years old. He is a good-natured little fellow that gets along with everyone. Sylvia met the challenge of training and registering him as a “therapy dog” and the both of them as a “therapy team.” Currently they do three or four hours, three days a week at the local hospice. He has also gone to a local library to “read” to the kiddies.
We both remain in good health for our ages. Sylvia remains very retired and actively continues in her role as Bella Vista’s newest tennis star – so far no broken bones. Jerry still keeps busy. The homestead takes a lot of time. He volunteers as needed at the Animal Shelter and maintains a couple of websites – a weather station (jerry-sylvia.com) from our boat house and one for the local bluebird society (bvbluebirds.com). He also monitors a couple of trails for the local Bluebird Society.
This year we enjoyed our yearly, “special trip” with sister Joyce and husband Kenn. We spent two weeks eating pasta and touring cathedrals from the south to the north of Italy. We posted a few pictures in the ‘Italy2017’ album on our website (argets.com). The other annual trip, backto England to visit Sylvia's family in August, was great as well. We also had very good visits with with all four of Jerry’s sisters and a number of super overnight trips in the local area.
A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You!
